gday lag just4 the aussie folks a pug is a 5v 5 in nilla (normal maps big 1's) so not like a scmin

I'm pretty sure you can have gg pugs. From my understanding and prior experience a pug is just basically a public scrim, no clans. Generally the people involved join the server, two captains are chosen and they knife to get first "pick" and they pick people until there's nobody left.
If it's for gungame, it sounds like fun. If its nilla, fuck that.

ETA: are you asking for pugs or like a proper competition with clans versing each other?

I chose to call it "PUG" because it would stop peoples confusion about what type of comp this is.

Its a 5v5 nilla 3map.
You just have to have 5people in a team to enter.

2011 [SMG] Counter Strike Source PUG Competition.

Details:
FREE ENTRY
Date: Entry Closing date, January 15th.
Start date: 22nd January.
This is a 5 versus 5man Comp.
Each match will be monitored with an official [SMG] GG tournament administrator.
Players can ask to review the Warmod TV footage if required.
(You may have up to 3 reserves per team, a player who is being put in as a reserve can not enter in the competition under a different team)

All teams will be put in 3-4 random pools, depending on the number of teams competing. (Just the same layout as the Rugby World Cup and Soccer World Cup)

Pool A:
Pool B:
Pool C:
Pool D:

Teams face all teams in the same pool as them.
The team that wins the most in there pool moves on to the next round.
The team who are second in there pool also moves to the next round.
The team who placed 3rd in there pool will face off with all other 3rd placed teams for wild card entry.

This round will be called the qualifying round...
(We may do another round of qualifying but will call it the round robin depending on the amount of teams
if so the teams placed 1st in the qualifying round will automatically go to the quarter finals.)

Then the Quarter Finals:

The 1st place teams will move on towards the semi-finals.
The 2nd place teams will also move on towards the semi-finals.

The Semi-Finals
The 1st place teams will then move to the finals.

Finals:
All teams will face off until two remaining.

The Grand Final.

The last remaining two teams will face off.

There will be 3 maps, the 3rd map deciding the victor if the match turns in to a draw.
This will be continuous until the tournament is over.

* If you register for a SMG event you allow us to Email you information about these and other SMG event.
* Tourny Admin holds the right to remove you or your team from the event for any reason we regard as not being acceptable.
* All players must not be banned from the [SMG] servers.
* The games will not be able to be Paused!
* Teams are advised to use Teamspeak, Vent or Mumble and have reserve players on stand by in case some one disconnects.
* Once Teams have started a Tourney game they must play the whole game
if not doing so, you will automatically forfeit the match.
